Synopsis :
KAMALA is brought up under the care of Shankar's father. Mother despises Shankar's growing attachment for Kamala. Despite protestations of ailling father mother keeps on tormenting Kamala. Shankar's feelings for suffering Kamala deepens... Compassion sprouts the seeds of love in the virgin soils of their hearts.... their imagination excites to a sweet dream song of their union. Father dies and mother's greed to devour Kamala's wealth swells up to storm that hurts Kamala far away from Shankar... and their sweet dream buries deep in oblivion.

Kamala is driven into sanctuary. Her childish inquest changes to devotion and she dedicates her very life to her own Shankar. Shankar gets involved in a worldly web of wealth and woman.

The passage of time though creates a vast gulf between the two lovers yet a faint voice of the dream song still echoes from beneath the depths and their soul keep on wriggling from within.

Then the density brings them face to face. The storm rises within and without, and the dust mounds sweep off their minds... they discover each other when all of a sudden a hand violently shakes them to the reality of the barriers around them... and the gulf between them widens still more. Kamala finds it impossible to rich her Shankar her cherished dream freezes... Shankar efforts but the intensity of a human warmth fails to bring it back to life... and she turns to eternity. She hears from behind calling her 'SANGDIL"
